sunday evenings...

....are always spent Skyping the peeps I miss dearly. Dan (you know the hottie I am gonna marry in March), Steph (soon to be sister-in-law) and the soon to be Nieces Brooklyn and Bailey, Heather (my other soon to be sister-in-law), and Annie Bananie (my lovely cousin)! Last night was filled with them all. At one point it was a huge conference call...with Steph and the girls, Heather and I. Then, later with Annie, Dan and I! haha. Skype is legit. Love it!!!! :)

Meet my soon-to-be Nieces: Brooklyn is 6 (on the left.) started 1st grade this week she is so funny, She can make you laugh anytime with her animal noises. We like to watch iCarly together in the mornings, and she is a crazy kid! Bailey is 3 (on the right) started pre-school this week. She is full of SASS, she can melt you heart with her cute face, and she is one good cuddle buddy! I sure miss this girls a lot! <3

finding happiness.

The last few days I have been in such a rut. I mean a moody, sad, depressed, don't wanna do anything kind of a rut. Yeah, super lame because I couldn't for the life of me figure why I was feeling this way. I mean I have so much in my life that makes me happy. I could go on and on about my loving family, my AMAZING fiance', my membership in this church, blessings I have been give etc....etc. Like I said I just wasn't happy. Dan has been so wonderful at listening to me these past few days, and do all he could to cheer me up. I know I say it all the time, but I am the luckiest girl ever. Even if it was just a simple and meaningful "I love you" he said it would bring a smile to my face. But still I wasn't myself and I figure it was just me that needed to find a way to fix this, I have been praying for someway to shake this feeling. Today at church the talks were on "finding happiness" ummm....Yeah HELLO! (this church is true haha) Everything that was shared today was just for me, and really open my heart to see what was missing in my life. I can honestly say, I love this church. I am so grateful for the power of Prayer, and for the strong testimonies of those around me that have helped me see what was missing in my life.

Since I've started this whole Wedding Planning process I love to look for ideas and get inspired!! Even though I have a total vision already, its fun to get more ideas.

Come on, I've been dreaming of this big day since I was 5. LOL. and I've found a wonderful man who I cannot wait to marry and spend Eternity with! :) ok. now back to what I was talking about...

1. She's Missing Dan--Dan is gone, and these last few days since he left have been sooo long. I miss him soo much and I miss this day...

08/09/10--the day we got Engaged!!!

 

2. The Family Fun she had-- My Uncles on my Mom's side came to visit. Uncle Todd, Aunt Andrea, Cousin Lu, Uncle Brent, and Cousin Ella all came to Ca and boy did we have some FUN! We did alot each day they were here..but it was oh so much fun playing with Lu (3) and Ella (6). I love those girls lots and miss them already..but it is nice to have some quiet in the house. haha! :)

3. etsy.com!!--So I've always loved Etsy but since I've started looking at Wedding stuff, I literally can spend HOURS looking at Etsy for ideas. Oh boy, I have lots. I have a binder with all the ideas. Gotta love planning a Wedding! <3

4.How grateful she is for the restoration of the Gospel--In Relief Society today we talked about the Church in former times. It got me thinking about how lucky I am to live in a time where we have so many ways to access the truth and fullness of this Gospel. It's all because of Restoration of the Gospel that all is possible and because of this right here....the first vision.

I can't even begin to tell you all how this event, has blessed my life. It's because of this I have all I could ever want and need. The restoration of the Gospel was such a huge event in this Churches growth. It has brought so many blessings into my life, like being able to be sealed to Dan in the temple for time and all Eternity. Being able to spend Eternity with him brings the biggest smile to my face, and being able to create an Eternal family with him. Both these things are possible because of my membership in the Church. :)

5. Fall--Fall is almost here, and I cannot wait for it. The leaves, the colors, the cooler weather, the rain, the pumpkin pie, the sweaters and everything else that comes along with Autumn. Oh, I CANT WAIT. 

6. Wedding Dresses--I cannot wait to go shopping for my Wedding dress. Hopefully Mom and I will go to Utah end of September to find he perfect dress! ahhhh!!! :)

We're Engaged!!!!!!!

yep, its true. I am going to be

The Story:  

(I know everyone has been dying for this..)

On Monday we went to S.F. with my family since Dan had never been we planned to do it all the whole "tourist-y" stuff. We headed to Baker Beach as soon as we got there. (my favorite Northern Ca beach) It was FREEZING COLD...when we all walked down my Mom set up a blanket and then my sister Jenna had to pee so off everyone went, I was a little confused why they all had to go. I got over it and Dan and I just were sitting there. I noticed right away he was being very "strange" he was looking around a lot. I kept asking "Babe, are you ok?" he would say "yea". 

Then he said "Hey, I have a present for you!" I was confused and said "A Present?! for what", "because I love you.." was his answer. So, I open it and it was a cute little book with a picture of us on the cover and more inside. As I looked through it I would say things like "aww and cutee book" 

Still with no clue what was going on until I reached the page after all our temple pics that said "we have one more temple trip to make..." I started to laugh and KNEW what was going on. 

I started to cry (and so did he) and then he pulled the ring out and said something along the lines of "Eryka Ann will you Marry ME?!". (I was soo shocked, all I heard was Marry me?!) ha.

Among the laughs, kisses, smiles and tears I said "YES YES YES". I can't describe the next few moments because I was in total SHOCK...good thing Mom was there to take pictures..haha. I do remember looking up and seeing them all yelling "WOOOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!" they had been hiding!! haha.

There you have the Proposal story!!! We both are just sooo excited and are beyond grateful for all of our friends and families support! No date has been set yet, but we are thinking March 2011. Don't worry I will keep everyone posted with details soon. Dan and I are beyond excited for this next chapter of our lives and cannot wait for it. We love you all and appreciate your love and support! :)

Dan headed home today and boy do I miss him a lot. It's hard being away from my future Husband but I know we can do it. After saying one last prayer together, I was sure we would be able to make it through this time apart. The distance is only going to strengthen our relationship. He is the LOVE OF MY LIFE and I cannot wait to spend time and all Eternity with him! Thank goodness for technology, since we're doing the long distance for awhile. haha. :) 

Dear future Hubby, 

I LOVE YOU so much and cannot wait to be with you for time and all eternity. 

It will be pure bliss. :)

the weekend.

Don't cha just love the weekends? I do! Friday night we out for my stepdads birthday and saw "Dinner For Schmucks". It was an interesting movie, has some funny parts but I am not sure how I feel about it. If you've seen it, I would love to hear what you have to say. All I gotta say is "hmm..."! ha

Saturday was my friend Justine's Baby Shower (Ive known her since beauty school, almost 3 years ago. man!!) omgawsh it was so cute. It was a picture perfect outdoor Baby Shower! I am beyond happy for her and her husband, its been so fun to watch her belly grow. Love you Justine!

 cant wait to meet this little guy. :)

Saturday night we went to Santa Rosa to Guy Fieri's restaurant "Johnny Garlics" for my stepdad's birthday dinner. It was so much fun, but sadly we didnt have any Guy sightings. BUMMER! The food was good, but a tad spicy we all thought. It was totally worth it though. If you are every in that area check it out. He also has another restaurant called "Tex Wasabi" we want to try that next!  After dinner we went to Ashley's work The Carneros Inn.

In Napa. It is GORGEOUS, and I want to stay there so bad. Go ahead and look at the site (click on The Carneros Inn), you will fall in love with it as well. I would love to stay there just one night for my Honeymoon someday. I would be a happy camper! *sigh* I wish!!!! :)
