d.i.y//pop of neon

using this tutorial i tried to make some boring flats into some dang cute ones....here is what i found that worked for me: you can file this diy under pinterest success!

what you need:
+ spray paint {i used krylon brand}
+ painters tape
+ nude flats or heels {mine were from my mom i believe she got them at walmart last year}
+ paper towels
+ area to spray paint
+ newspapers or something to lay down to spray paint on
+ nail polish remover & q-tips

how to:
1. tape off the part of your shoe you want painted. i just did the toe but you could even do the heel too. {that would be super cute!} be sure to tape the sole part too. i didn't at first and had to use nail polish remover to take it off.
2. tape a paper towel over the rest of the shoe to prevent paint getting on them.
3. now, take them outside and spray 2-4 coats on. i did 4 i believe, because i already had tried black before so i was trying to cover it up. 3 would be perfect if they are plain already!
4. let dry for 1-2 hours. take tape off and use the q-tip & nail polish remover to get paint off anywhere you dont want it. i used it to clean up the line.
5. now, wear your cute shoes. seriously, i am in love with them and cannot wait to wear them!

if you do this diy share some pics i wanna see what you come up with!

d.i.y//neon flower pots

what you need
+ terra cotta flower pots {super cheap at walmart}
+ painters tape
+ neon spray paint
+ primer spray paint {not pictured}

step one//prep your work space by placing newspaper on ground {be sure to tape them down so the wind doesnt blow them onto the pots}. then tape your desired design on the pots.

step two//spray a coat of primer paint on pots and let dry for half an hour. you may want to add an extra coat of primer too.

step three//spray a light coat of your neon paint on pots. let dry half an hour. repeat one more time. after its all dry you peel off the tape and ta da its done! so cute right? and soo easy!

&& lastly you plant some pretty flowers!

this was probably the easiest thing ever, and now that i have neon paint i want to spray everything and anything with it. haha. its my new fave! if you do this d.i.y let me know. i would love to see what designs you come up with!!

happy crafting, loves!

treat yo self

yep. that's baking soda on my face. have you ever done one? it feels so dang good. leaves your skin feeling so soft. which i need since utah has done a number on my skin. i usually do a mask once a month or sometimes once a week. {like the water all over my shirt? bahaha}

what you need:
baking soda
a sink
towel

how to:
+grab that baking soda out of the cupboard
+pour a dollar coin sized amount into your hand
+turn on faucet and using your fingers drip a tiny bit of water into baking soda. just enough to make it into a paste like mixture
+apply to face + let sit until it dries/gets crusty
+rinse with warm water {after your rinse you could wash with your normal face wash if you want}
+pat dry + lotion up

&& now it's your turn to treat yo self maybe take a hot bubble bath too!

a recipe: pumpkin chocolate chip cookies

1 cup canned pumpkin puree
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon milk
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine pumpkin, sugar, vegetable oil and egg. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Dissolve the baking soda with the milk and stir in to the flour mixture. Add flour mixture to pumpkin mixture and mix well.

Add vanilla and chocolate chips. Stir it up.

Drop by spoonful on a greased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly brown and firm. {I baked mine for 11 and they were perfect.}

I made these the other day and then took em over to my in laws and let's just say they were a hit. I personally loved them when they were cold! Hope you enjoy! :)
