a few months ago i joined these lovely ladies kaitlyn, gentri, and kristy in a secret blogger swap. basically, we all were paired up with another blogger and then you get to know them and send them a secret package. then someone is given your name and does the same. 

i was paired up with liz from dance to the radio. i really loved getting to know her and we even became sponsors of each others blogs. she is one awesome and crafty lady. i suggest you check out her blog, you wont regret it. when i was gathering things to send her i decided to send her some of my favorite things candy, and one of my favorite books. i also made her a monogram for her room. i saw this polka dot paper and it just reminded me of her. i also, included a utah magnet!

the amazing, lovely, talented lady who had me was kate {or mk} who blogs at from the guest room. you guys, i was blown away when i opened my package. i received on a day when i was in a crappy mood and it lifted my mood. she took the time to make me a banner with abcde on it. i love it. i even hung it up! its darling, she also included darling earrings, not only are they darling they even have a story. they are from suubi and all earrings come with a story of the artisan who created them. they were beautiful. thanks again liz. love it all!!!

Guest Post: What I Love About Today

Hey readers. Today the lovely Elizabeth from What I Love About Today is taking over my blog. Not only is she taking over my blog, I am taking over her's!!! :) 




Hello all you at ABCDE! My name is Elizabeth and I blog over at What I Love About today. I originally started my blog in 2009 to document my new role as a wife. After two years, and some advise from my husband I decided to change how I blogged. Naturally I am pretty negative person that struggles with depression. One night after a particularly hard day, my husband suggested to me that I write down what I love about everyday. So thats what I have been doing, everyday or close too it. Sometimes I find something really cool and exciting to write about, other times it is something small. Either way, it has helped me to appreciate the little things in life. 

With summer coming it, it has me thinking about all my summer plans and about summers past. Growing up my summers were basically non-existant. I played competitive soccer basically my whole childhood, so my summers consisted of tournaments, soccer camps and a lot of conditioning sessions. 

Now as I get older (and now that I have a life instead of playing soccer 24/7) I have a different type of summer to look forward too. It is my first summer with a "Big Girl Job", ya know, the kind that you have to work all summer. That being said, I still have a lot of summer plans. The first being camping. 

Its been over a year since we last went camping while we were in Hawaii.

I am also pinning for a snow cone.

They are my very favorite.

We only have one snow cone shack in town, and I am so ready for it to be open.

Lastly, my final summer plan is to take lots of pictures.

I got a new camera earlier in the year and I am so excited to really learn how to use it.

Our InstaWeekend

what our 3 day weekend looked like. full of a bridal shower for my cousin, hubby being silly, slipper wearing, sun finally coming out, target trips, and finally getting flowers for our front yard. it looks so much better now.

{Guest Post} Before The I Do's

Hey its Eryka, I am not only on Jessica's blog but also over here today too! Go take a look at me talking about books on te and baby. :)

Hi ABCDE, I am Jessica over at Before The I Do's. I am so excited that Eryka & I are swapping blogs today talking weddings. I am spilling details of my BIG day while she is reminiscing about her big day!!! So when you are done reading about the plans, head on over to my little corner to read how her day went!!   

Here goes nothing or everything, you decide. 

1. When are you getting married?

 I will be a married lady on October 13,2012

2. Why did you pick that date?

 Back to 2010 when I got engaged, I was in NO hurry to get married. I know every girls dream is to have that dream wedding we have been planning since we were able to walk but not this girl. I wanted to finish school & close a few more chapters in my life before writing this one. It will be 2 years that we have been engaged in November. 

One day  I was looking through the calendar trying to decide if and when I wanted to get married. I ALWAYS thought I would want an August wedding. I have no idea why. But I was wrong. October 13th just jumped out at me. 1. October is my favorite month, not just because my birthday is the 5th {mark your calendars & let me know if you need my address.....wink wink} 2. Fall is my favorite season 3. It is the start of desert season {I have grown up there my WHOLE life} & 4. most important #13 is my favorite number. I was 13 all through high school for sports & everything. All my FAVORITE things in one. 

3. What are you wedding colors?

Both of my colors are from david's bridal. 

Candy Apple Red

{A's favorite color is red so I thought I would include something of him, after all it is both of our big day}

&& We are doing Regency Purple

  we are including black, platinum & white. I sure hope it all goes together well. 

4. Where are you getting married? 

I am getting married at a golf course called Castle Creek in Southern California

5. Do you have your cake design?

Yes, actually I was going to have my little sister's aunt do my cake, but sadly things just didn't work out. I was looking online for a wedding cake designer and came across No More Boring Cakes. Jen was on Fabulous cakes on TLC, I think I found a winner.

6. Where are you going for your bachelorette party?

As I live only 4 hours away from it, we are going to VEGAS BABY!!! I really can't wait to spend a weekend with my favorite girls & my mom. 

if any of you are free August 17-19th & would like to join, please do so!! It is going to be a great weekend!!!! lots of pool, drinks in hand, getting our tans on, and enjoying the weather! 

7. Do you have your first song as a couple picked?

I thought I had it picked,

I was going to do "I Love You This Big" By Scotty McCreery but now I am not so sure.

Any suggestions anyone?

8. Do you have your favors? if so, What are they if  you don't mind sharing?

Yes I have our favors picked out, now if you asked me if they are ordered. That would be a negatron. I promise one day I will just sit & plan my wedding but until that day, pass. I told you all, it seriously just stresses me out & i just quit. It is not a good trait to have when trying to do something like this. lol

9. What is your most stressful moment in wedding planning?

Honestly the WHOLE planning is stressful. The easiest part for me was wedding dress shopping & bridesmaid shopping. It was super simple. I knew exactly what I wanted & tried it on & said Yes. that easy, but the rest of it. Including WHERE i wanna get married has been stressful. 

10. what is the one advice you would give other soon to be brides?

The one advice I wish someone told me earlier {not saying that I would have listened} but I would tell them when the day comes, NOTHING else matters in the world besides you & your man. that is all that matters, is that moment, that day you get to spend with each other. Soak it all in, sit back & see the small details. If someone can't make it, don't get mad it really is just all about you two. 

Last words,

Come October 13. I will no longer be a single girl but a married lady!! Scary to think, but I am looking forward to it all. If you want to follow along in the journey, come by & say hi.

1. What is the story behind my blog name?

My blog name is kinda all things me. I wanted my blog to be about my thrifty finds, nifty crafts, food, etc. and I am a momma trying to make it in this modern world. So with that my blog name was born.

2. Why do you blog?

I started my blog as a way to meet new people. I wanted an outlet that was just mine, after having my son I needed a place of my own. A place where I can connect with people that are going through the same stuff and have similar interest. 

3. If you could meet any blogger in real life, who would it be?!

 I would love to meet Eryka! She is so fun and I love her style. Not to mention she is always posting pictures of all the amazing places she eats and I love all things food so we would be amazing real life friends!

4. When you aren't blogging how are you spending your days?

My days are full of chasing a 10 month old around the house, reading all kinds of fun kiddo books, daily visits to the park, tons of laundry and dishes, getting my new jewelry business going, and as much cuddle time as I can get in with my little one. I love being a stay at home mommy and wife and as crazy as our life can sometimes be I would never change anything!
