weekly link up: summer fun

Hi guys! This week Ashley and I want to know your favorite Summer activity. With Summer quickly approaching I have started thinking about the few things I do like about summer. I am a Fall/Autumn kind of girl. I do like Summer for a few things. 

Snow cones, swimming, tan skin, and I get to wear my rainbow flip flops. I love my rainbow flip flops. Do you have a pair? No, well you should get some. Yes, I know they are like 50 bucks but, they are so worth it.  I have mine for awhile and they are still in great shape. 

I think I would have to say my favorite Summer activity is something I got to experience for the very first time last Summer. Trips to the local snow cone shacks. We made so many trips last summer to get snow cones I can't even count them all. I am so looking forward to them opening up in a few weeks. California doesn't have them and I have really been missing out on this glorious summer treat. 

Just the other day the hubby and I saw one and both exclaimed "I cannot wait for snow cone season!"

Hey! Im bbbbaaaaaccckkkk! I had such a fun time with my momma here. I am so exhausted now though. We were go go go everyday! 

My house is now in shambles, I have allergies like non other, and I probably gained 10lbs this weekend. I promise I will get back to blogging soon. I need a day or two to get things in order and I will  get back to all those blog emails I have in my inbox soon. Bare with me.

weekly link up: state love

This week on weekly link up, Ashley and I wanna know what you love about the state you live in. 

I have lived in Utah for a little over a year now. I was born and raised a California girl. So when I got married and moved to Utah it was a little different {ok, alot different!} But, I really don't mind it all. I actually don't really miss California all that much. I guess I was meant to be a Utah girl. I love the mountains so much. I visited CA a few months ago and had a mini panic attack because it was sooo flat there. Weird huh? Since I lived there my whole life. haha. Utah, is just so pretty. Pretty in a different way from California. Don't get me wrong Ca is soooo pretty but, in a TOTAL different way than Utah. Ca has the beach. {Nothing can beat that!} But, Utah has the mountains. Which are so gorgeous in their own way.

Utah has so many awesome things to offer. A lot of people don't think so. I know growing up, a lot of my friends where like "Ewww Utah" But, honestly I love it here. I love the views, the people and the weather. 


I love that I am a Utah girl. Dan and I don't really see ourselves living anywhere else. I feel like Utah is a wonderful place to stay and raise our someday family. I am not saying its the only place to. Just saying I feel like its a really good place. I know that anywhere can be a good place to raise a family. Honestly, I don't think I would want to raise a family in California. {CALM DOWN DONT GET MAD ME CA PEEPS} I have my reasons and there are mine to have. We are all entitled to our own opinions right?! Trust me, I am not hating on Ca. Just saying have lived in CA and now Utah. I would choose Utah to live and CA to visit.

Wow, I feel like post isn't coming out how I wanted it too. I am trying to say I love Utah for being different than CA. && I love CA for oh so many reasons. I mean thats where I grew up. CA has so many things to offer. So, don't think I am hating on CA! Just saying I love Utah! haha

I admit when Twilight came out I was all team twilight. Then the last book and movie came out. Then I was all "Whyyyyyy???" Needless to say I am sooo TEAM HUNGER GAMES! Which is so fitting since the movie comes out Friday. Guys, I am seriously so excited. Talk about fan girl freak outs everyday this week. Phew!

So, now that we know I am all Hunger Games. That leaves one more question. Team Peeta or Team Gale? Well, I'll be honest. In the books I was Team Peeta most the time, then I felt bad for Gale so I was Team Gale for like a few chapters. Then with the release of the movie I wasn't sure about Josh Huchterson as Peeta. But, with all the teasers I have seen and photos. I have proud to say I am so TEAM PEETA. He is a perfect Peeta and I cannot wait to see the movie all the way through on Friday!

Why am I Team Hunger Games? Well, because I love the way these books were written. I loved that each and every character felt real to me. Like I could really be friends with them all. Well all but Snow and Coin. I didn't like them at all. Anyways, Hunger Games is just a great story. It kept me interested. Each book were extreme page turners. I just love the whole story. I love when a book takes me into another time and makes me feel like a part of it. Its pretty much awesome sauce. Suzanne Collins knows what's up. haha!

Dance, I have always wanted to be a dancer. ALWAYS!

The fear of not being perfect. I know, nobody is perfect. I always want to be though. So I am working toward being ok with not being perfect!

weekly link up: most memorable date

This week on "Weekly link Up", we wanna know all about your most memorable date. It can be a funny, cute, amazing, horrible, bad awkward or whatever kind you wanna share. 

Guys, I didnt really date much before I got married. I never really liked the idea of dating. I can probably count the number "dates" I've had on one hand. haha Anyways, I wanna share with you all the story of the Hubby and I's VERY first date since its a pretty awesome story! WARNING: It's a long one, but a must read.


The background: The Hubby and I met while he was on his mission. He served in the Singles Branch I was attending. I only remember talking to him a few times, I had a "boyfriend" at the time and you can say I wasn't in the "look at the cute missionaries" phase like all the other girls. Anyways, the Hubby went home and about a year after he had been home. I noticed he started to like pictures of FB or like my status'. I would tell all my friends about and they all were like maybe you guys are soul mates. You know silly friend comments. haha! 


One day in March 2010 he messaged me on FB and we started chatting. I had to go somewhere so I did something I never would have done before....I gave him my number. MY NUMBER! Yeah, cray cray. I didn't think he would text me but guys guess what he did. "Hope I put this in right...is this Eryka?"---thats the text I received. Alright, so after that day we started the talking everyday phase. We would text, fb chat, skype, and talk on the phone. 


So after about a month of the talking everyday. I had a Utah trip planned to visit my cousin and of course to see Dan. So we could finally go on our first date. So now onto the first date story! haha


The first date: After a SUPER nerve racking flight to Utah, I landed. As I walked to baggage claim to meet him I was a WRECK. Super nervous. Oy! So I started going down the escalator I could seem him standing at the bottom holding a pink rose and sign that said "ERYKA". {CUTE THE AWWWW} 


After a awkward hug we headed to his car and off to sushi we went. I don't really remember what we talked about. I do remember it was super awkward at first but, after dinner it wasnt so much.  As we were walking to the car he said "I wish we could do what they were doing" {a couple holding hands walked by...haha} Yeah, we held hands! 


From dinner we went to his house to watch "Hot Rod". At his house I met his parents for the first time and then we watched "Hot Rod". So they we are watching "Hot Rod" sorta cuddling on the couch. My cousin Annie called to see how it was going and to see when I was gonna be at her house. Before we said bye she asked "Are you falling in love yet?" But, Dan could totally hear her and we both started cracking up. Super funny! 


After the movie he took me to Ogden where I was staying at Annie's. He came in and visited for a little and then I walked him out to his car and in my Aunt and Uncle's garage we had our very first kiss. Yeah we kissed on the first date. Bahaha! 


..and the rest is history!

1.   My favorite place i've ever traveled to is     is pismo beach, ca or santa barbara, ca. i love it there. so pretty!

2.    New York or Europe     is somewhere I'd love to go someday.

3.  I pass the time on a plane (or bus, or car ride or train) by     reading or listening to music      .

4.  My three must-haves when I travel are     a good book    ,    snacks   and    comfy clothes 

5.  My favorite travel companion is    my hubs  .

6.  The craziest thing that ever happened to me while traveling is    um, nothing too crazy has happened. i dont travel too much  .

7.  The most exotic food I've ever tried while traveling is    nothing. havent traveled out of the country  .

8.  If I could live anywhere else, I'd live in    seattle, i have never been. but i think i would LOVE it there  .

9.  I have been to    seven  states in the U.S.
