Some Winter Fun.

Christmas is over...what?! This holiday season flew by, I cannot believe it. It's bitter sweet I am sad it's over but looking forward to 2010 and everything it will bring! I am playing catch up, I have posted but not on what I have been up to. So here we go!

Weekend before Christmas Josh, Kendell, Emily, Sally, Sarah and I went to Candy Cane Lane in Vacaville. After we hit up the game night at the branch and then some of us went to Josh's to watch Taken (great movie).

Christmas Day
So Christmas morning I get woken up by my sister Jenna (shes 14) at 7:30am, I thought I dreaming because really get up that early is NUTS. We are grown now come on! So we woke up and open presents and set the Wii up (yeah we got a Wii!) and played for a little bit before headed up to Folsom to my stepdad's side of the families house! It was a very chill and relaxing Christmas. It was nice! Haley and I were a little bored before the present opening started so we had a little photoshoot...

It turned out to be a very good Christmas and I am shocked it's over. Now onto New Years!

Currently snuggled in my bed, wearing my Christmas jammies and watching "It's A Wonderful Life" and then will end the night by reading the story of the Saviors birth in the Scriptures. What could be better? This is a tradition that I hope to continue with my family of my own someday. As I sleep tonight I will think of the birth of our Savior and ponder everything I have to be grateful for. I will even dream of a white Christmas.

Mother-Daughter outings are always oh so much fun, and even better when others join us. On Tuesday Ashley, Pat and my momma and I headed to San Fransisco for a funfilled Mother-Daughter day. Usually when we go to the city we always SHOP 'til we drop, of course we shopped but we also went to Pier 39 something I haven't done in years! What a great day we had, loads of laughing, christmas fun, shopping and food. I love Mother-Daughter days!

The Reason For The Season.

I cannot believe that Christmas is on Friday, this year has gone by so fast and especially this Holiday season. In sacrament meeting today the talks were centered on the birth of Christ as Christmas is near and it is the time we celebrate his birth. Today was such a GREAT reminder to me on the real reason for the season. It is so easy to get caught up in the lights, gifts, shopping, and everything else that goes along with the "worldly" Christmas. I admit I do get so caught up with everything that comes along this season. With all the wonderful talks that were shared today, it helped me focus on the meaning of this wonderful time of year. A lot of what was shared today had to do with service. For, service is a gift from our Heavenly Father. It also is a wonderful way to show our love for this Christmas season. What is more selfless than giving service to others. A few weekends ago the branch had the chance to go to the "Heather House" and provide them with service. We went in the cold, wet, nasty weather and filled sand bags for them. Yes, it was cold and rainy but it was fun and such a neat experience to help others in need. After that I had the chance to provide more service to our stake. Along with many other girls for the branch we "babysat" several kids while the parents could do some Christmas shopping and such. That day was such a wonderful experience to be able to put others first and forgot about my worries. We all need to strive to be less selfless and be willing to help others. We also need to show our Heavenly Father service by following the examples he has given us and strive to be like Christ. I found this wonderful quote from President Thomas S. Monson and I think that it sums up everything I am trying to say..

"The spirit of giving gifts has been present in the mind of each Christian as he or she commemorates the Christmas season. Our Heavenly Father gave to us His Son, Jesus Christ. That precious Son gave to us His life, the Atonement, and victory over the grave."What will you and I give for Christmas this year? Let us in our lives give to our Lord and Savior the gift of gratitude by living His teachings and following in His footsteps. It was said of Him that He 'went about doing good.' So when I saw the commercials for this show I told myself DO NOT watch that lame vampire show, "Eryka, just don't even go there!" Well I didn't until just now.( I mean I had other shows to watch like The Office, One Tree Hill, So You Think You Can Dance and 90210) Don't judge me for being totally in LOVE with them. They have been playing every episode of "Vampire Diaries" this week, and CRAP is right. I am totally hooked. I have seen the first two episodes and yes, it's a stupid show but so good! I plan on finishing the rest tonight, and tomorrow. Looks like I have a new show to add to the list.

It doesn't hurt that their is some eye candy on this show for instance these guys...
( I don't know their names, but thats ok. LOL!)


Now, This is what I picture a HOT Vampire looking like, either one of these two. Nothing against Twilight but, I'm sorry Robert Pattinson isn't hot. Sorry. LOL. Well, maybe this new love for this show will be short lived. I don't know yet, but with SYTYCD over now. What's a girl to do.....

OH GOSH cannot believe Jakob didn't win last night, I was SHOCKED. He is amazing, I mean seriously every time I saw him dance I got goosebumps.

Temple Lights and Ice Cream!

Monday night for FHE the Singles Branch went to the Temple to see the lights, and to Fentons after! For those of you who don't kow what Fentons is, you are sure missing out. (it also got a little cameo in the movie UP). Check out the link click on FENTONS!...

We got to the Temple too late, and weren't able to see the SFSU Hand bells but we got to watch the video of Christ's birth instead, and listen to the wonderful Sister Missionaries bear their testimonies of the Spirit of Christmas. It turned out to be a wonderful night. Got to walk around the Temple grounds and enjoy all the lights . It was beautiful and oh so much fun. Don't you worry there are pictures so you can see how much fun we had. We all know, everyone loves pictures! So here we go...

It was a FUN FUN FHE activity! So this week is almost over and that means everyone is done with FINALS almost and coming home for break! YAY! I cannot wait for them to be home. : ) I miss everyone lots.
